Divinity: Original Sin is now on consoles...

I can't praise this game enough, and now it is finally on consoles. If you haven't played this RPG yet, and don't have a PC, well now is the time to pick it up. I plan to pick up a copy on the Xbox One. I already own it on PC, but I want to support these guys. I haven't bought a game twice in a long time. So if you haven't already, and you like RPGs, pick up this game and you'll see why I love this RPG so much.

Pillars of Eternity

I picked up Pillars of Eternity on Steam a little while ago and been playing it here and there. So far it is a really good RPG that is a throw back to the turn-based RPGs of the 90s and early 2000s. If you ever played IceWind Dale or Baldurs Gate, Pillars of Eternity plays just like them. There is a ton of reading in this game, and it is a long one. I think it clocks in around 40 or 50 hours and more if you try to do everything. I think I am a little under 5 hours or so and I am enjoying it. I really like how you can choose to go with the pre-designed characters or create your own.

There is an expansion out for the game, and another one coming very soon. Looks like Pillars of Eternity is going to take me longer then Divinity: Original Sin did. But I am ok with that, Obsidian Entertainment has done a really good job with this game. Brought back a lot of memories from past RPGs like this one. If you are looking for a long RPG with lots of details and is turn-based. You may want to check out Pillars of Eternity. It has been well worth the purchase.

Bad Luck With RPGs...

Lately I have been having some really bad luck with RPGs. While playing Divinity: Original Sin, I picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition late last year, I loved the first one. But it seems that the series has gone from PC focus to, to much console focus. I found it to be very boring, simple combat that was unappealing, and the open world was uneventful. I got to about 20% of the game and just couldn't find a reason to continue to pick up the game and play it. To top it off, the story was just so damn boring. I guess a lot of people liked it, but it just wasn't for me. Sold it early this year.

Another game I had bad luck with, well the whole series for this game, was The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. I do have to say that the game is good, really good but the combat made me bored. I never felt that the combat was exciting, I always ended up not wanting to fight because it was more work then pleasure for me. I got about 10% through this game and never continued.

2015 so far hasn't provided me with RPGs I couldn't put down, except for Divinity: Original Sin. But I started that game in 2014, got distracted by other games, and finished it in 2015. So I picked up Pillars Of Eternity for the PC. Hopefully this will be as good as Original Sin and doesn't end up unfinished like the last two RPGs this past year.
